Let’s Get Social

While blogs are your home base, the tried-and-true friend who’s always waiting for you whenever you need it. Just like friend groups are a collection of different personalities, your content is also a collection of personalities. So let’s talk about the extreme extroverts in your group – social media.

Social media wants to be out there constantly talking about your brand. They share with everyone. They want everyone to know what’s going on and they’ll include everyone too.

But, as any self-aware extrovert will tell you. Even when you want to tell everyone, everything, you need to be strategic in where and how you do that.

Our little blog can suddenly become a mini-blog on a platform like LinkedIn and look something like this.

Take a few lines from your blog and make some pull out quotes like this:

“At their heart, blogs are about building awareness.”

Example social media quote from Kim Funk creative to illustrate how to use branding on social media.

“With the blog at the center of your marketing strategy, you have content you can repurpose to start conversations on other channels like social media, video, podcasts and webinars.”

Use a design platform, like Canva, to create branded pull-out quotes. While this may seem boring in your Canva folder, each time you deliver content on social media in your brand colors on your branded slides, it triggers something in your audience’s mind. Eventually, they know your brand without an introduction.

You can take that idea a step further and create a carousel for Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn like this:

The carousel’s interactive format keeps readers in the social media platform where they found your post. When you produce content that keeps people on the social media platform, the platform’s algorithm rewards you by prioritizing your content in your followers’ feeds.

But, it’s also good to change it up. And if you’re working in Canva, you can easily turn a post into a short video. People LOVE videos.

Selfie videos are popular these days. Don’t be afraid to turn the camera back on yourself. Audiences LOVE feeling like they know the relatable people behind the brand. So go ahead, introduce yourself!

As an extrovert, social media is also the trendsetter of your group. Social media isn’t afraid to try new things. And it always knows what’s in style now. Social media is as young, hip and cool as your young, hip and cool audience.

Lighten it up and have fun. Even if you’re not sure a meme or Tik-Tok dance is right for your brand, you can find a fun way to express yourself on social. If your brand comes across as approachable, your audience will be more likely to click on the link to your blog when they see it and reach out to you when they’re ready to make a purchase.

Wow! That was a lot.

If you’re not a social media person, don’t worry! There are people in this world who would love nothing more than to create a social media strategy to market your business. If you’ve got questions, contact the creatives at Kim Funk Creative to learn more.
